What it is
An American IPA scaled up in gravity and hop load without losing its edge: bitterness is high, hop flavor and aroma are enormous, and the malt is kept simple so it never gets in the way. Alcohol should be felt as warmth, not tasted as heat.
Flavor
Citrus and resin/pine, with room for tropical, stone fruit, berry, floral, herbal, earthy/woody or spice.
Grainy, with room for bready/biscuit, sweet/honey, toasty or caramel.
Clean, with room for fruity esters.
