Description
The oldest German malting barley still malted commercially, approved for brewing in 1924 and revived as a heirloom line. Malty-sweet with a soft biscuit aroma and a rounder mouthfeel than modern two-row, which is the point of brewing a Zoigl or a Kellerbier with it. Enzymes are graded 'medium' rather than numbered, so the diastatic power is class-typical.
