Description
Pale malt peat-cured to a restrained 3–10 ppm of phenol, made for whisky but brewable, and otherwise a pilsner malt with a medicinal edge. Peat asserts itself in beer far sooner than fruitwood smoke does, so a fifth of the grist is already plenty. Viking publish no diastatic power, so that figure is class-typical.
