Before you use it
Traditionally reckoned to make a beer heady rather than merely bitter, which is why it fell out of favour. Use it sparingly and avoid it entirely in beer for anyone pregnant.
Description
Bog myrtle, the second of the classic gruit three, giving a resinous, bay-like, slightly peppery aroma. Common in Northern European brewing long before hops arrived.
