Description
Unmalted oats rolled into flakes that go into the mash without milling. The beta-glucans and protein they carry are what give an oatmeal stout its slickness and a hazy IPA its standing turbidity — and what will gum up a lauter, so run rice hulls with them. The Swaen publish moisture and density but no color, extract or diastatic power; those three are representative here.
