Before you use it
It still cannot rescue sloppy packaging, and the sodium it carries is small at brewing doses but not zero. Prefer it over ascorbic acid when the beer will sit warm or travel. Food-grade only; the industrial grade is not for beer.
Description
A more heat- and oxygen-stable isomer of ascorbic acid, widely used as a packaged-beer antioxidant. Same role — soak up the last dissolved oxygen so hop aroma and malt sweetness last — with a longer working life in the keg or can.
