Before you use it
Very hygroscopic and prone to caking — keep it sealed and break up lumps before weighing. Potassium is well tolerated by yeast but very large doses can read faintly salty.
Description
Raises pH exactly as baking soda does but leaves potassium behind instead of sodium, which is flavor-neutral at brewing levels. The better choice when a beer already carries as much sodium as it can take.
