Before you use it
Milder than wormwood but the same family and the same caution: it carries thujone, and is not for anyone pregnant. Bitter enough that a tea blended to taste beats committing it to the kettle.
Description
Artemisia vulgaris, wormwood's milder cousin and a gruit herb in its own right: bitter, sage-like and faintly camphorous, with less of the searing bitterness that makes wormwood hard to place. Common in Northern European brewing before hops.
