Before you use it
Astonishingly bitter by weight, and closer to a hop in strength than to a herb: two grams in 20 liters is already noticeable. Bitterness this clean also arrives late on the palate, so judge it a day after brewing rather than in the kettle.
Description
The bittering root behind most amari and a traditional gruit botanical: an intense, clean, lingering bitterness with an earthy edge and none of the resin a hop brings. Used where a botanical beer needs balance rather than aroma.
