Before you use it
Carries roughly a third more calcium and chloride per gram than the dihydrate, so a recipe written for one form is materially wrong for the other. Confirm which you have before dosing, and store it sealed — it pulls water from the air and slowly becomes the dihydrate.
Description
The water-free form of calcium chloride, sold as hard prills or flake. Same job as the dihydrate — calcium plus a fuller, maltier chloride character — but a given weight carries considerably more of it.
