Description
Black color without the black-malt bite: a debittered roasted wheat that gives the same depth of color as black malt and almost none of the astringency, which is what makes a black IPA taste like an IPA. One to two percent tints a beer with no flavor cost at all; five to seven brings a hint of smooth roast. Briess publishes only moisture and color for it, so the extract here is typical of the class rather than theirs.
